What's New
Deer symbolizes tenderness in work, thought, touch, ability to listen, grace, appreciation for the beauty of balance, an understanding of what is necessary for survival, power of gratitude and giving. There is the connection with nature and the ability to sacrifice for the greater good. The deer teaches us to find gentleness of spirit that heals all wounds and to achieve a balance of love and compassion for all.

Rabbit symbolizes moving through fear, living by one’s own wits, receiving intuitive messages and quick thinking. Rabbit represents humility because he is quiet, soft and not self asserting. We are reminded not to be afraid.

Quail symbolizes a strong sense of community and family ties. Joy and boldness are inherited qualities of the quail. A sense of purpose in serving family creates quail’s mission. There is a connection to earth in that it prefers to stay close to the ground even though it has the ability to fly, and it uses instinct to guide it safely through perilous situations.
Turtle has a strong connection with the Center, or Mother Earth. It respects the boundaries of others, developing new ideas, self reliance, tenacity and non-violent defense. Turtle has the ability to go within – he can withdraw into his shell and protect himself from danger.

Fish symbolizes wisdom and inner knowing. Fish honor every event in life as a gathering of wisdom. Even when the flow of life seems to push hard, fish can tap the hidden resources of inner strength and spirit. Fish finishes what it begins and has a sense of purpose that cannot be interrupted by external forces. Fish teaches us to see every bend in the river as a new adventure and teaches lessons we need in order to grow.

Enhancing the health of individuals and our community for the Mercy Regional Medical Center, Durango, Colorado

FACES They smile. They frown. They weep. They light up in recognition, beam in delight, reflecting the memory of kindness expressed, gifts shared, lives touched...The Mercy Health Foundation is the people who give and the people who receive; they are faces of patients and families.  And when you close your eyes, the memory of these faces will stay because you helped.
